Fire and Ice Policies Extended details

There just is not enough room to post all the information regarding policies for the Second life store.  For that reason, I have created a post here on the blog where it is easily accessible.

No Refunds

I will not be providing refunds for purchases made in the second life marketplace.  The reason for this is simple.  1.  you have received a digital product that no matter how much you would like to return it, you simply can't.  there is no way for me to retake possession of it.  2.  Linden Labs takes a ten percent commission from the sale before I receive the funds.  Therefor I am not receiving the full amount that you paid.

Demo Fee

Yes, there is a demo fee of 1L$ This is the equivalent of $0.01 USD.  The fee is to reduce random free demo grabs from nonserious buyers which can clutter up the transaction window making it harder to find a specific transaction when a customer has a problem with a product that won't deliver but was paid for. It's also a way to discourage those looking to rip or copy bot creators' hard work.  It's unfortunately the few dishonest people make it difficult for the honest but that is how it is.

Yes, The Demos have a kill on rez.  which means if you rez it, then it will delete itself.  and yes, the demos have a time limit of 5 minutes of wear time.  So you will need to make use of that time wisely.  once you put it on you will have 5 minutes to evaluate the clothing item before it removes itself and all it's textures. if you take it off before the 5 minutes is up the timer stops and only resumes from where it left off when you put it back on again.  giving you only 5 minutes per item.  If there are more items in the demo package, anything that has not yet been worn still has 5 minutes left.  Demos are also no copy, no mod, no transfer.  which means if you want a longer evaluation period you will have to purchase another copy.  Now I understand some buyers will not like this situation with demos however a demo is not required to sell a product.  a demo is not meant for extended wear. and a demo is not meant to replace the actual purchase of the product.  Demo's are simply to get an idea of how it fits you.  sometimes they will give you an example of their texturing appearance but it's mainly about the fit since texture appearance can be offered through images on the product page without giving you the product.

regarding the linden fee for the demo.  while it is against my better judgement to offer any refunds on demos because those who throw the biggest tantrum are usually the ones trying to steal from you.  I'm sorry to put that out there so bluntly but for creators it is in fact the elephant in the room that nobody ever likes to discuss. However, I am aware that some people are extremely oversensitive about having to pay a fee to try a demo.  I will consider each case-by-case request on refunds of the fees, but I will require a notecard from the buyer explaining why this is such a hardship for them and why they feel I should make an exception for them.  This does not mean that everyone who asks will get a refund.  But there are rules.  you cannot have a history of no purchases but a large number of demos.  you cannot have posted inappropriate reviews not only on my products but anywhere else on the marketplace.  If you have a history of posting inappropriate reviews that are not constructively about the product itself (ie  fitting, textures, functionality  ect  these are appropriate.  price, customer service yet you've not contacted the seller, attempts to lower ratings on competitors of friends or self, these are inappropriate.)

You get the idea; your reputation will follow you. It's pretty simple.  give respect to get respect.

While most of the mesh in my store has been created 100% by me.  I do from time to time purchase other creators mesh to retexture and sell.  This may or may not include re-fitting if I have purchased DAE files.  I do not resell those items as full perm because that's just dishonest.  If you see something in my store that is full perm it's because I made it, and no other creator was involved in the making of it.  I know how much work I put into my own models and thus understand how much work they put into theirs.  That being said.  Full perm is not to be resold in the same state you receive it in.  it should always be rezzed and reset to no modify, and either no transfer or no copy.  you should use your own textures, scripts, and animations.  unless specifically spelled out otherwise consider that always the rule.

Fitting issues:  I'm a human being and sometimes I'm going to miss some peek through somewhere that can't be hidden with alpha channels or alpha huds.  This might be because of a shape that you chose that wasn't compatible with the fitting used.  let me just say... don't get all bent out of shape before you talk to me.  Because the thing is I just might make an adjustment for you if you take the time to discuss the issue and show me what's going on.  I'm sure if we have a chat over it and I can see what the problem is that your having we can get it resolved.  you just have to reach out to me.  you can do this by IM and Notecard. maybe use Gyazo to send me snapshot images of the problem.  I might ask you for your torso and or leg sliders to see if I can recreate the problem and work on a fix for it.  again, give respect to get it.  I'm not a corporation with a bunch of other people helping me make things.  I'm just me and this isn't my pay the bills job.  Treat me how you would want to be treated.

These policies may be edited as needed in the future.  But I think you get the idea here for the most part.  contact me in world if you have any questions.
